The previously held record of throwing mobile has been broken this year by one eighteen year old Ere Karjalainen in the mobile throwing contest. So, Karajalainen is the winner of the mobile throwing contest, 2012. Karjalainen was able to throw his mobile phone to a distance of about 101.46 metres which is 332 feet 10 inches and was able to break the previously held record of throwing mobile phone to the greatest distance. The news was reported initially by the Finnish television network YLE after the event was over on Saturaday. The second position was nabbed by Jeremy Gallop from South Africa who threw his mobile to a distance of 94.67 metres.
According the organisers of this mobile throwing contest, the contest provides a unique way to the mobile users to pay back the disappointments as well as frustration that these devices has caused them in their life. Finland being the home of Nokia has abundant sources of outmoded mobile handsets, the organisers have mentioned in their statement.
In this mobile throwing contest there is no provisions for dope test however if a contestant is not mentally or physically prepared to participate, then he or she may be refrained from participating. The mobile throwing contest has been held in south-eastern town of Savonlinna since 2000 and is one of the most popular events of Finland.
