Planning to use Google Maps Offline in Android to navigate
in a place where there is weak or no network connection? Guess what, you are in the
right place to know about it. Navigation software use is on the rise. The
problem is most of them use internet connection to show maps but several places lacks a
decent connectivity which prevents the user from accessing the map. However,
there is a solution for it. Saving the Google Maps for Offline use is all you
need to do. This will allow you to view the saved sections even where there is
no network connection. As there are lots of tutorials for iOS, so I’ll be
covering this topic exclusively for Android device.
Save Google Maps offline in Android for future use in no network areas
As you know, Google provides the best maps among all the
free services and is one of the most widely used navigation service. There is a
feature that allows the user to save the map and use it offline whenever
necessary. However, most of us are not aware of it. But today that gap in
knowledge of saving will be merged. The first thing you need to do is download the latest version of Google Maps from the Android Play Store. Now, let’s save a
map. Open the application where net connection is available and search for
the place you want save the map of. In our example we have selected Toronto,
the capital of Ontario, Canada.
As you can see above the map of Toronto is shown in the
screen. You can see the white section below where the search term is written.
You can adjust the map by zooming in and out adjusting it according to the
section you need to save the Google maps for offline use in your Android
device. After you are satisfied, touch the white section showing the search
term below and swipe or slide it up and you’ll be taken to a screen as shown below.
