Bluetooth gets two new certification to be incorporated to fitness devices



The Bluetooth Special Internet Group has passed two new certifications that aim at device that monitors parameters related to cycling as well as running. It is the same group that certifies all types of Bluetooth accessories. The Bluetooth headset or keyboards and mouse that you connect to the PC have also been certified by them. But almost two years ago, the group has addressed on producing lower power consuming devices that could be connected to fitness devices like Nike+ FuelBand.

The new standards that have been approved as sensors for tracking devices will measure various parameters of exercise such as running cadence, stride strength, speed of cycling and many more and transfer it to Bluetooth enabled smartphones or sport watches. It has been presumed that if the devices are kept a low power consuming state, it will give a more accurate result.

As reported by Gigaom, Bluetooth Low Energy will be going the mainstream very soon. And soon the old devices that required an extra dongle to connect to the PC will be replaced by the newer standards. This is because companies are expected to switch production to the newer Bluetooth low energy fitness monitoring device. After all, customers are will for easy to use device and the survival of the company lies on satisfaction of the customers.
